Title of the Good Practice

Introduce students to leadership models, explaining how to recognize them.

Description of the Good Practice

This best practice focuses on making students aware of the existence of different leadership styles, helping them to understand which one is their own. This practice is very effective because it triggers in all participants the curiosity to learn more about themselves.

The good practice starts by giving students a test consisting of twelve questions, after which a score is given.  Following the test, the different leadership styles and their function are explained and a reflective discussion is initiated on which characteristics of one’s own style are functional with respect to different situations.

This best practice provides knowledge of what leadership is, its meaning, its main styles, and how each person natively interprets or can learn the most suitable style.
